Collector Notes:
Escape is an exploration of finding serenity within catastrophe. Inspired by a dream of airplanes falling from the sky, soft formations of creamy white are obscured by piercing slashes of rust while a stormy, iridescent atmosphere expands outwards across the surface, resembling the concentric, shifting colors of an iris. Crushed seashells serve as the medium for the lighter shapes, grounding the work in a material connection to the beach and its quieting presence. Suspended between movement and stillness, the piece captures a frozen moment in time, where the calmness of the sky persists in the midst of violent interruption.
